Since February, BMW has started installing a discreetly updated logo on all its cars, regardless of the type of drive. The change will also coincide with the introduction of the revised M badge, although details about its appearance are still unknown.
The new BMW emblem first appeared quietly last September on the 2026 iX3 model, but it went almost unnoticed. The reason is that the changes are very subtle. The inner chrome ring that previously separated the black outer circle from the blue and white fields of the Bavarian flag has been removed. The chrome frame around the sign has also disappeared.
The minimalist redesign is coming to the entire BMW range

The blue and white colors now have more saturated hues, while the black ring has gone from glossy to a satin matte finish. It is also interesting that BMW no longer uses the light blue outer ring to visually distinguish the electric and plug-in hybrid models from the classic versions with SUS engines. The new logo will be unique for the entire range.
The transition to a minimalist design starts in February for all models. Even the part number for the iX3 is known, and can already be found at some European parts retailers, with the caveat that it may not fit older models perfectly. For now, BMW confirms that the new emblem will be placed on the hood, while it has not yet been specified whether it will also appear on the trunk, rim caps or steering wheel.
At the same time, it was confirmed that the change to the M logo will take effect next month. What exactly the new edition of the famous M sign will look like is not yet known, but it is speculated that it could also get a flatter and more contemporary design, in line with the minimalist direction that BMW promotes through the Neue Klasse philosophy, reports BMW Blog.
