Developer SCUM, Zagreb studio Gamepires, has a new owner


The Zagreb studio Gamepires is now part of the British company Splash Damage, which bought it from its previous owners, also from Great Britain.

The developer of the most successful Croatian game has changed hands. Zagreb Gamepires after three years spent in the ownership of the British company Jagex became part of another British company, Splash Damage.

The financial details of the acquisition were not publicly disclosed, it was only said that Gamepires with the parent team would form a new group under the name Splash Damage Groupwhich will operate as an independent collective. Previously, Splash Damage was owned by China’s Tencent.

Splash Damage is known as the team that has collaborated with Xbox on their franchises by helping to develop the games Gears Tactics and Halo: The Master Chief Collection. In the future, they plan to continue such collaborations, but also investments in the SCUM franchise and into new ideas.
