A new Gran Turismo has begun development, or so it seems


Polyphony Digital is looking for 18 employees for the production of the “Gran Turismo” game, presumably the new title that Kazunori Yamauch wants to deliver an even better experience for players.

Grand Tourism is the only Sony series to exceed 100 million copies sold, primarily due to the fact that it has received seven main iterations and several “sideways”. Therefore, it should not be surprising that the series has a guaranteed future.

And in that future, a new Gran Turismo is probably waiting for us. As noticed by the Insider Gaming portal, the Polyphony Digital studio recently started the process of hiring new employees and they are currently looking for employees for 18 positions. The ads include the following:

“We’re proud to have brought the ideas of the future to reality through art and technology for the past 25 years with Gran Turismo games. But we still feel we have a lot of work to do in providing the best experience for our players.”

Although this not a direct confirmation development of Gran Turismo 8, it’s been clear for some time now that Polyphony Digital has done almost everything they planned with the existing Gran Turismo 7. From the free version to the paid expansion to support for PlayStation VR2 and PlayStation 5 Pro.

The series will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2028 and a new GT game, perhaps on the new PlayStation 6, would definitely be a nice “gift” for fans.
