Tesla postponed the new Roadster again

Tesla’s long-announced Roadster has been delayed again. According to The Information, the public demonstration of this electric sports car should now take place in August at the earliest.

CEO of Tesla, Elon Muskannounced the Roadster demonstration last year. More specifically, in October 2025, he said the vehicle would be unveiled on April 1, 2026, but that date passed without incident. Later, however, he said that the demonstration would take place in May or early June, which also did not materialize.

According to available information, the main star of the demonstration will not only be the car, but also Tesla’s collaboration with SpaceX. Namely, the companies are developing a cold gas thruster system that should significantly improve the performance of the Roadster, which already has enviable performance on paper.

Musk previously claimed that such a system could enable unprecedented acceleration capabilities and even short-term separation of the vehicle from the ground. Although such claims have not yet been publicly confirmed by a demonstration, sources say that Tesla employees and SpaceX engineers internally demonstrated an early version of the technology, codenamed A71, in late April.

Tesla is reportedly planning a special SpaceX version of the Roadster with advanced thrusters, along with a standard model intended for a wider audience. But let’s remind you that the second generation Roadster was presented back in 2017, and then Tesla announced that it would start production in 2020.

However, almost 10 years after its initial introduction, Tesla’s Roadster still hasn’t made it to the market.
