Lamborghini presented the Fenomeno Roadster: under the hood is a 1,080 HP hybrid

Cult Italian manufacturer Automobili Lamborghini has officially presented the Fenomeno Roadster, its latest limited series model and also the most powerful open-top car in the brand’s history. Production is strictly limited to only 15 examples, thus continuing the tradition of exclusive series started with the Reventon Roadster model in 2009. This two-seater represents the evolution of last year’s Fenomeno Coupé, combining sporty and luxurious solutions with the attractive design of their Lamborghini Centro Stile studio.

The name of the model follows a long tradition of drawing inspiration from the world of legendary fighting bulls, while in Italian and Spanish “Fenomeno” means something extraordinary. Stephan Winkelmann, the company’s president and CEO, pointed out that this model embodies the brand’s pure values: visionary design, uncompromising performance and absolute exclusivity, aimed at a select group of customers looking for a masterpiece of engineering excellence.

Hybrid technology

The heart of this car is Lamborghini’s first V12 hybrid system. The powertrain combines a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine, which independently develops 835 hp, with three electric motors. The total power of the system is an impressive 1080 HP, which allows the Phenomenon to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.4 seconds, while it reaches a speed of 200 km/h in 6.8 seconds. The car’s maximum speed exceeds 340 km/h, and the 7 kWh lithium-ion battery enables (limited) all-electric driving mode.

The chassis inspired by aeronautics ensures an optimal power-to-weight ratio and a high structural rigidity. Maneuverability is handled by manually adjustable racing shock absorbers that enable precise adjustment of height and settings for road or track. Stopping power is guaranteed by the CCM-R Plus carbon-ceramic brake system derived from motorsport, while special Bridgestone Potenza tires on 21- and 22-inch rims have been developed for contact with the ground.

Aerodynamics and design

The design team faced the challenge of maintaining aerodynamic efficiency without a roof, which is why the Fenomeno Roadster received a completely new aerodynamic package. A special spoiler on the windshield directs the airflow over the cockpit directly into the engine compartment, ensuring cooling of the V12 unit without the need for an intake like the Coupé version. Carbon rollover structures are elegantly integrated behind the seat, blending into the signature “Speedster” humps at the rear.

The visual identity is dominated by sharp lines and hexagonal motifs, which extend from the LED lights and air intakes to the interior of the cabin. The control concept combines three digital screens with hexagonal graphics and aviation-inspired switches.

The start of production and delivery in Lamborghini has not yet been announced, and for the price – it is probably not polite to ask.
