The new episodes show the events in the drug world in the 1990s. Mexican cartels are thriving thanks to the increasing globalization of drug trafficking, but more money means more danger.
The new season of Netflix’s biographical-crime series “Narcos” continues exactly where the other one left off. It starts with the attempts of the DEA, and especially Javier Pena, to put an end to the new cartel, which is after Escobar, number 1 in the world.
After the end of the second season and everything that happened, the Cali cartel came into force, which in the meantime became the largest producer of cocaine in the world. Unlike the first two seasons, where Escobar sowed fear and panic across the country, with his murders and brutalities, the Cali cartel wants to get out of business in a “legal” way and avoid bloodshed, and as the series progresses, we see that it will not work.
Moreover, at the peak, they had control over 90% of the world cocaine market. That is why the decision of Gilberto Rodriguez Orejuela the leader of the Cali cartel, to leave the cocaine business and become completely focused on legitimate business moves, caused disbelief and shock among the members of the cartel. However, even that proved to be a very profitable plan, and it is speculated that the cartel in 1996 made as much as 7 billion dollars in the United States alone by investing in legitimate businesses. At first, it seems that everything will go smoothly and that the cartel bosses will succeed in their intention, but there are people who do not want to let everyone get away with it and continue a comfortable life.
How mane episodes has new Narcos: Mexico Season 3
The season has 10 episodes, as well as the first two, and it is watched in one breath, it is full of details, facts, while it keeps the viewers in constant tension. The approach to the topic has remained the same – it is based on a true story (during the series we can see documentary footage that proves how convincingly “Narcos” shows people and events) with some fictional character or event that serves the main story
The leaders of the Cali cartel are different from Escobar, a national hero and a terrorist easy on the trigger, they have been replaced by bosses for whom humanitarian work and care for the poor are not too important. They are interested in a policy that should enable them to painlessly legalize wealth and get rid of the criminal heritage, the past. At least on paper. Of particular interest is the depiction of the corrupt octopus created by the Cali cartel. Corruption in Colombia has reached epic proportions and there are few important people in the state apparatus who are not on the payroll. How strong the cartel is, precisely because everyone is involved in it in some way, is found out in the very finale of the series.
Judging by the announcement in the teaser for the third season, the new generation of cartels is finally provoking a comprehensive war.
Many old members of the cast will return in the Narcos: Mexico season 3, Scoot McNairy as Walt Breslin, Alejandro Edda as Joaquín ‘El Chapo’ Guzmán and José María Yazpik as Amado Carrillo Fuentes.
Also in the new season 3, there will be Wagner Mora, who again plays Pablo Escobar, as well as Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, better known by the stage name Bed Bani, who will be a guest as a young cartel killer.
Unfortunately, Diego Luna will not play the character of Felix anymore.
