An irresponsible 19-year-old in the US state of Nebraska lost his new Audi S5, as his vehicle was impounded just four days after purchasing it. According to the media and the local police, the young man ended up in custody for traffic violations.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office there says officers spotted an Audi S5 traveling at speeds of up to 135 miles per hour, and the vehicle was seen “sweeping” between six other cars trying to get into the fast lane, all without turning on its blinkers.
He went wild for a short time
During the stop, the police determined that the driver, Tanner Jonesbought the car on December 30. Since the offense took place on January 3, it means that he only had it in his possession for four days, that is, he didn’t waste time but immediately “threw himself” into the rampage. He was arrested for willful suspended driving, failure to use turn signals, lack of proof of insurance, and exceeding the speed limit by more than 58 km/h.
According to an excerpt from the Nebraska legislation reported by Carscoops, a first offense of willful driving while suspended is classified as a Class III misdemeanor and can result in a driver’s license suspension of one month to one year. The fine for speeding is listed as $400, while the other two offenses are described as minor, noting that the cost of recovering an impounded vehicle can be high.
