Electronic Arts have finally, after a salvo of leaked information, officially unveiled a new release in its popular shooter series, titled Battlefield 2042, rather than Battlefield 6 as originally expected.

Battlefield 2024 is going back to its roots. This is the first thing that can be noticed based on the presentation. Warfare in the near future was a regular theme until Battlefield 4, and then with BF 1 and BFV, a change was made by going to the periods of World Wars.

With the new Battlefield, title come huge changes for the entire series. The limit on the number of players per match has been doubled from 64 players to 128 players, which brings maps of much larger proportions divided into sectors with points of interest. The characters in the game will be based on a class system, modeled on those from the R6 Siege, as each will have its own story and its own gadgets, such as motion sensors, resuscitation weapons, etc.

A big additional change is the absence of a single-player campaign, but that does not mean that there will be no campaign. but it will be in a multiplayer manner. As for the things that are missing, there is also the Battle Royale mode, to the general surprise, but that is why there are mods that are reminiscent of this style of fighting. Of the game modes, those already established in the series are known, and new ones are expected, which have not been shown in detail yet.

Futurism will be the main component of the gameplay and events in the game, so expect some novelties, such as robot dogs and gadgets in that style. Battlefield 2042 Release Date

Shortly after writing about the potential delay for Battlefield 2042, several sources received an official statement confirming the rumors.

DICE, Criterion and other auxiliary studios in charge of working on the game confirmed the news of the delay in a joint post on Twitter, so that Battlefield 2042 beta version will be released on October 8. (Updated on September 30, 2021)

The main reason for moving the date is the challenges that developers are facing due to the corona virus pandemic, which has slowed down the work on the game a lot. The desire is to bring a quality experience with the new generation of Battlefield, which is why it is necessary for the game to spend extra time in the desktop.

Battlefield 2042 Price

Battlefield 2042 standard edition is priced at 60 USD on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The price goes up by 10 USD on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. The price for Gold Edition is 90 USD on PC and 100 USD on consoles and the Ultimate Edition price is 110 USD on PC and 120 USD on consoles.
