The group of modders that launched GTA Vice City NextGen Edition last year has now taken an even bigger bite and set out to transfer San Andreas to the engine developed for GTA 4 and 5.
Ah shit… here we go again.
The story will probably be familiar to you – a group of GTA fans and modders is working on an unofficial remake of the iconic GTA: San Andreas. They call it GTA: San Andreas – The NextGen Edition, and the basic idea of the project is to transfer San Andreas to the engine that was later developed for GTA 4 and GTA 5.
Let’s remember, San Andreas was originally developed in the old RenderWare engine, while GTA 4 brought a completely new RAGE engine with significantly more advanced physics simulation, more realistic animations, etc. Now the old San Andreas should have benefited from it too…
The team developing this modding project already proved itself earlier this year with GTA Vice City NextGen Edition. However, you’ll remember that Rockstar didn’t give permission for the mod to launch, so it was launched in a roundabout way – so interested PC players had to find where to download it themselves. It is to be expected that the same will happen with this, if Rockstar does not take care to prevent the whole thing before it started.
