Once you’ve installed iOS 15, the “Find My” app will find your mobile device even if it’s turned off in the meantime.
With the advent of iOS 15, the Find My app has become more useful than ever. After completing the installation of the latest version of the operating system, you can now find your phone even if it is turned off.
Be aware that you will be able to find a limited number of devices with this feature. This means that with Find My you will still be able to find other iPhones only if they are turned on.
Models that support finding and when turned off are iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12 Pr, iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Mini, and iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max.
How to activate the Find My application?
If you’re a new iPhone owner or have never used Find My, here’s how to start using it in Settings, tap your name. Then select “Find My”, then Find My iPhone.
Turn on Find My iPhone, as well as the Find My Network option, which will allow you to search for the device even when it’s turned off. By activating Send Last Location, your phone will send your last location and you will know where it was when the battery was low.
After activating these items, you can search for iPhone via the Find My app on a Mac computer or any browser by going to iCloud.com/find and signing in with your Apple ID.
If you search through an internet browser you will see a green dot representing your phone. Select it and click on the circled letter “i”. You get the option to play a loud sound, delete the device, or switch to “lost” and your phone will send a phone number that device finders can use to contact you to get your phone back, after which it will lock. The app has the same features as the internet version with navigation to get to your device.
