Drummer Chad Smith confirmed for Rolling Stone magazine what many fans of the band wanted after the news about the return of their favorite guitarist RHCP, the new album is almost finished.
“We’re almost done with the new album,” Chad Smith said.
After a ten-year absence from the group, John Frusciante re-joined in 2019, replacing Josh Klinghoffer. Frusciante’s return was announced by the band on social media in December last year, and Chad has now admitted how much it actually contributes to the band’s dynamics.
“So it feels completely natural. He’s so into it. He’s working so hard. We’re all working hard, but he’s in there with all the overdubs and the magic that he brings.” Chad Smith said.
Remember, the last time John Frusciante entered the studio with the band in 2006, they were working on the album “Stadium Arcadium”.
As a RHCP fan, I can not wait for the new album to come out. I have a feeling this will be a very powerful album in many ways, for many reasons. I’ve been a fan since Mother’s Milk album was released back in 1989. To see the incredible evolution of this rock band and the staying power of a band whose coming up in 40 years. The guitarist John Frusciante’s return is gonna be felt.
