Capcom explained how the two-character format will work in the upcoming Resident Evil Requiem and revealed a few more details about the game.
Last night, Capcom held its final presentation Resident Evil Requiema before the launch of that game on 27. 2. They did not confirm the segments in the open world, but they clarified and revealed a few new details to us. Among the most important new information are the following:
- the gameplay with Grace will be closer to Resident Evil 2 and 7, while Leon’s part of the game is closer to Resident Evil 4
- each character will have their own section of the game and there will be no free switching between them
- some gameplay elements will be reserved only for Grace, e.g. collecting ink to record the position, while at Leon we will have checkpoints
- Grace will be able to use only one weapon during the game with a very limited amount of ammunition, while Leon will have a wide arsenal, including an indestructible ax, and will occasionally be able to take weapons from opponents, such as a chainsaw
- Leon will have a lot more finishers here than in previous games and will eliminate zombies in brutal ways
- stealth mechanics from RE4 remake are back
- there will be a new crafting mechanic that will be able to create lethal injections through the collection of zombie blood
- zombies in this game will retain part of their human personality and will imitate the performance of the tasks for which they are responsible, for example, we will see zombie cleaners trying to clean the area
