The iPhone Air 2 is coming next year though

Just a few days ago, some sources claimed that Apple is delaying the launch of the iPhone Air 2 model due to weak sales of this super-thin phone. According to that information, the new generation of the Air model would be postponed until 2027. However, the latest reports from Asian sources completely change the scenario and reopen the door to the premiere in the fall.

Previous reports have suggested that Apple is considering changing the rhythm of releasing new models, from two iPhones a year. In this plan, the focus next fall would be on the iPhone 18 Pro series and the first Apple flip phone, while the standard iPhone 18, the basic iPhone 18e and the iPhone Air 2 would be moved to the spring of 2027. Bloomberg further confirmed that picture by claiming that Apple is not even planning an annual refresh of the Air line.

Conflicting information about Apple’s plan for the iPhone Air 2

However, tipster Fixed Focus Digital has the opposite information. He claims that the iPhone Air 2 is already certain for the autumn presentation of Apple in 2026, noting that the iPhone 17e has entered the phase of mass production and will be presented in the spring. The AppleInsider portal, however, calls for caution: this source has had both correct and completely wrong statements in the past, so reliability remains questionable.

If it turns out that Apple is moving forward with the Air 2 model, two important changes are expected. The first is the introduction of a second rear camera, which would correct one of the key weaknesses of the first generation. The second is a potentially lower price, so that the iPhone Air occupies a more attractive position between the basic and Pro series.

We have to wait for the final confirmation, but for now it seems that Apple has not given up on the Air line, on the contrary, it could be an important part of the fall of 2026, writes LTN.
