The largest electric car charging station in Croatia opened in Zagreb

Electric vehicle charging infrastructure provider operating in Central and Eastern Europe, Eleport, has opened the largest charging hub for electric cars in Croatia. It is located in the shopping center King Cross Zagreb in Jankomir. The new charging station is located at Ul. Velimir Škorpik 34.

The project is part of the development of domestic infrastructure for electric vehicles and the accessibility of electric mobility in Zagreb and the region. By placing charging points in the shopping center parking lot, Eleport and King Cross are following the trend of turning shopping centers into mobility hubs, where electric vehicle infrastructure connects with other amenities in one location.

A total of 20 connections

This hub has a total of 20 chargers for electric vehicles. 12 fast direct current (DC) chargers with a power of up to 400 kW per port have been installed, while an additional eight alternating current (AC) chargers are available through four stations with a power of up to 11 kW. The total connected power of the site is 1.3 MW, and the energy is dynamically distributed among the DC chargers to maintain efficiency and charging time, regardless of the number of vehicles being charged at the same time.

The filling station is equipped with a protective canopy, and filling can be managed via Eleport’s application. The location of King Cross Zagreb was chosen because of its position at the western entrance to the city, which connects Zagreb with the surrounding cities, the Adriatic coast and traffic routes to Slovenia, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia. The shopping center is in the process of modernization, and the installation of infrastructure for charging electric cars is part of that transformation.

Eleport operates in six European countries – Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovenia and Croatia, and manages more than 800 chargers for electric vehicles. The company plans to expand the network and has secured or is negotiating for more than 1,000 additional chargers, whose installation is scheduled for the period from 2026 to 2028.
