Alexander Skarsgard wants revenge in the first official trailer for “The Northman”, a new modern Viking action thriller by acclaimed director Robert Eggers, for “The Lighthouse” and “The Witch”.
Set around the tenth century, the film tells the mythical story of a young Viking prince (played by Skarsgard) who vows to avenge his father’s murder and save his mother by launching a violent and bloody rebellion against a brutal Viking military leader.
The film, co-written by Eggers and Icelandic novelist and poet “Sjon”, also stars Anya Taylor-Joy from The Queen’s Gambit (2020), Claes Bang, Bjork and Willem Dafoe. Meanwhile from Spider-man: No Way Home (2021), Ethan Hawke and Nicole Kidman also appear in the film as Skarsgard’s Viking father and mother.
