The first photos appeared on Chinese social networks that allegedly show the prototype of the iPhone Fold model, which further increased interest in Apple’s entry into the foldable phone segment. The published pictures quickly attracted the attention of the public and became among the most popular topics.
Design and specifications reveal the direction of development
According to available information, the device uses the so-called “book-style” design, that is, horizontal folding inward. When closed, it looks like a classic phone, while when opened, you get an almost square screen of approximately 7.7 inches, which brings it closer to devices like the iPad mini on the desktop. The external screen is said to have a diagonal of about 5.3 inches.
The visual interface seen in the photos resembles iOS, but is adapted to work on a larger screen and supports the parallel display of applications. It indicates an attempt to combine phone and tablet functionality in one device.
The hardware part also follows a high class. The device should use the A20 Pro chip, while on the back there is a horizontally placed module with two cameras, including the main one and an ultra-wide one of 48 megapixels. This arrangement represents a significant departure from the standard design of existing iPhone models.
Due to the larger screen and increased energy consumption, a battery with a capacity of over 5,000 mAh is expected. When it comes to price, estimates point to an initial level of around 1,800 to 2,000 euros, which places this model at the very top of the premium segment.
Although this is unofficial information, it is clear that Apple is preparing a serious entry into the foldable phone market.
