A Korean source reports that Nexon has acquired the rights to make a new StarCraft game, but it seems that it could be a shooter of some sort.

You may have already heard the rumor that the South Korean company Nexon will be in charge of new games from the series in the future StarCraft. And you may have already heard the rumor that StarCraft will get a new game that will belong to the shooter genre.
Now comes a 1+1 rumor that claims that the South Korean company Nexon is preparing a StarCraft game that will be a shooter. The news is reported by Korea Economic Daily, which claims that Choi Jun-ho, one of the most popular Korean map makers for StarCraft games, has been hired to develop the game.
Apparently, the Nexon branch in charge of the new StarCraft is responsible for the online shooter Suddent Attack (only available for the Korean market), which leads to the conclusion that the game could be a shooter instead of the previous strategic version.
If this is true, it remains unclear whether Nexon took over development of the StarCraft shooter from Blizzard or if it is a completely different project. According to previous rumors, former Far Cry game director Dan Hay was working on the unannounced StarCraft shooter at Blizzard.
More than a decade has passed since the release of the last StarCraft game, but the popularity of that series remains high precisely on the market of South Korea, where the Nexon publishing house is based. Nexon has several successful franchises behind it, most of which are known only in the Asian market. Admittedly, they own the currently hot ARC Raiders, as well as the developer of that game, Embark Studios.
