Allen Sports has introduced the Smart Suction Go, a bike rack that attaches to a car using vacuum cups, with the addition of Bluetooth monitoring and smart pressure sensors.
It is a solution that aims for greater portability compared to classic mounts, while trying to eliminate the main concern of users – the possibility of vacuum leaks. The system thus checks the pressure every five seconds and warns the user in the event of a problem via the mobile application or CarPlay and Android Auto.
The cheaper version, priced at around $299, actively monitors the three front vacuum cups, while the structure is designed with redundancy to maintain stability even in the event of a partial loss of pressure, with the manufacturer stating that users have several minutes to react before possible problems.

As reported by The Verge, the Smart Suction Go is intended for bicycles weighing up to about 16 kilograms, and each cup is equipped with a manual pump and an indicator of sufficient vacuum. According to the manufacturer’s claims, the rubber compound used is resistant to UV radiation and extreme temperatures, ranging from -15 to +60 °C.ž
The carrier uses four AA batteries with an autonomy of 6 to 8 hours of active use, and the whole system is designed primarily for transport, not for long-term leaving the bike on the vehicle.
