Ahead of the tourist season, Qelo is expanding its network of ultra-fast filling stations to Knin, Sinj, Labin, Gospić…

Ahead of the upcoming tourist season, when traffic on transit and tourist routes increases manifold, the domestic infrastructure for charging electric vehicles still lags behind the needs of the market. In order to respond to this challenge, Qelo continues with intensive investments in the development of a network of ultra-fast filling stations throughout Croatia. The goal of this investment cycle is to ensure more accessible and better infrastructure both for domestic drivers and for foreign guests who visit the country in large numbers.

Expansion through partnerships

As part of the latest investments, the locations of the Stop Shop Labin and Stop Shop Gospić shopping centers have already been expanded. These locations now have a total of four ultra-fast charging points and more available connection power.

In addition to the expansion of existing locations, Qelo concluded a strategic cooperation agreement with the Hey Park group, an investor and manager of modern shopping parks. This cooperation includes taking over existing devices or building new filling plants at locations in Zadar, Vukovar, Vinkovci, Prelog and Buzet. Also, at the end of summer, the opening of the new shopping park Hey Park in Ogulin is expected, which will also be included in this network.

Covering the Dalmatian hinterland

The lack of modern charging stations on key roads directs drivers to those destinations that offer added value, making electromobility an integral part of the overall tourist offer. That the need for such capacities is real and constantly increasing is confirmed by Qel’s business results from May, when excellent traffic was recorded at the most frequent transit and tourist locations.

The expansion of their network continues already in June with the commissioning of new ultra-fast filling stations within the Stop Shop centers in Knin and Sinj. With this step, Qelo expands the network towards the south and ensures better coverage of the Dalmatian hinterland, an area that until now lacked such infrastructure.
