A free Minesweeper has appeared on Steam


Fans of classic PC games on Steam can now play a new version of the so-called Minesweeper – Batter Minesweeper.

Minesweeper is one of the legendary games that came with Windows operating systems in the 90s and early 00s. Simple, yet complex, the so-called Minesweeper provided many hours of fun. And then they removed it from Windows and it fell into oblivion.

There have been a bunch of Minesweeper games on Steam over the years, but as a rule, they’ve always been paid. These would be small amounts, but when you got Minesweeper for free with Windows for years – you wouldn’t think of paying for it…

That’s exactly the mindset of the developers behind Better Minesweeper, a game that launched last weekend on Steam as a free-to-play title. It’s about modernized version of Minesweeper which has a bunch of adjustable options, different playing styles, measuring various statistics, etc.

And everything is complete free.

So if you’re ever nostalgic for Minesweeper, know that you don’t need to install old Windows to relive the game. Just add Better Minesweeper to your Steam collection.
