CD Projekt Red is set to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the launch of the Blood and Wine expansion for The Witcher 3. Although nothing has been announced, fans are hoping for confirmation of new expansions.
The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine the expansion will celebrate ten years since its release this week. It is the last narrative piece of the Witcher series with Geralt in the main role, so the CD Projekt Red development team will mark the anniversary with a celebratory stream. The same is scheduled for Thursday, 5/28 at 5 p.m.
Although nothing was announced, the very existence of the celebratory stream led some fans to think that on this occasion, a new expansion could be introduced for The Witcher 3. Rumors have been circulating about it for some time from several sources, but we have yet to receive official confirmation of its existence.
Apparently, the new expansion should be located in a region that we have not yet visited in the Witcher world, and its goal would be to merge the story of The Witcher 3 and the upcoming fourth part. The very existence of the expansion should actually be an opportunity for CD Projekt RED to fill the coffers a bit since The Witcher 4 and the next Cyberpunk won’t be playing for a while.
The Witcher 3 se do sada sold more than 60 million copieswhich means that there is plenty of opportunity for a fairly wide audience to be interested in the expansion.
But whether we will see the announcement of the alleged expansion this week, later or maybe never – it is difficult to predict at this moment.
