Valve announced the results of the Steam hardware survey for May 2026, and AMD Radeon reached a record 19.13 percent share in the graphics card segment. Nvidia is still a convincing leader with 72.42 percent, while Intel occupies 8.05 percent of the market among Steam users.
It is particularly interesting that two RDNA 4 graphics cards appeared on the monthly list for the first time. Radeon RX 9070 XT took 25th place with a share of 1.35 percent, while RX 9060 XT was recorded for the first time with 0.72 percent.
The most represented single graphics card is still the GeForce RTX 3060 with a share of 4.02 percent. Right behind it are the mobile version RTX 4060 with 3.99 percent and the desktop RTX 4060 with 3.74 percent.

When it comes to the amount of video memory, 8 GB is still the most common configuration with a share of 25.89 percent. Systems with 16 GB of video memory are very close, with 24.05 percent, which shows that higher capacity is fast becoming the new standard among gaming computers.

At the same time, AMD also achieved a historic result in the processor category. On Windows gaming systems, its share reached 44.97 percent, while on all platforms, including Linux and macOS, it is 46.06 percent. Intel still leads with 53.94 percent.
AMD’s growth is linked to the multi-year success of Ryzen processors, which have gradually increased their presence among gamers. If the current pace continues, it is estimated that AMD and Intel could become equal as early as July 2026.
Steam data also shows further growth of the Windows 11 system. Its share reached 69.78 percent, which is an increase of 2.02 percentage points compared to the previous month. Windows 10 fell to 23.99 percent at the same time.
Windows 11 thereby strengthened its position as the most represented gaming operating system on Steam. At the same time, the results for May show that AMD continues to reduce the gap compared to the main competitors, both in the processor and graphics card segment, Steam announces.
