The Croatian company CircuitMess, in cooperation with Rimac Automobili, presented the “do-it-yourself” Rimac Nevera, an educational set intended for learning robotics, electronics and programming. It is a functional replica of the famous hypercar on a 1:18 scale, which was designed to bring the complex technologies of autonomous driving and electric systems closer to a wider audience. The product comes in the form of a self-assembly kit, which encourages the development of practical skills in users of all ages.
Infidelity on the remote
CircuitMess, which has shipped more than 300,000 devices worldwide since its founding in 2017, specializes in DIY electronic and programming kits for kids and adults. The Nevere model extends that approach to the automotive sector, guiding users through an assembly process that mirrors the key systems of a full-size car in miniature.
Through detailed instructions, users independently assemble the chassis, install the electric motors, servo-controlled steering mechanism, wheels and tires, LED headlights and Li-Po battery system – the same underlying technology that powers the Nevera itself.
The kit goes beyond static assembly. Namely, when it is finished, the model is connected to a computer and can be programmed using CircuitMess’ CircuitBlocks application or, for more advanced users, in C++, which allows users to program their own driving rules, adjust the controller function or create a unique light show using built-in LED lights. The package also includes a custom Time Attack drive controller, which comes with an integrated “Boost Mode” to unleash extra speed on the racetrack.
The CircuitMess Rimac Never project represents a synergy of local design and global trends in education. While the original Nevera breaks track records around the world, its scaled-down version aims to inspire a new generation of engineers and developers.
