Dacia Striker: a combination of family station wagon, SUV and hatchback for 25,000 euros

The former Romanian car manufacturer Dacia, which today operates as part of the French Renault Group, has officially presented its latest crossover called Striker. This model marks the continuation of the brand’s strong offensive in the strategically important C-segment and embodies their ambition to make electrified mobility widely available on the market. The name “Striker” comes from the universal term associated with a hit or attack, which directly reflects the challenging spirit and high sales targets of the company.

It combines three automotive worlds

The new model within the offer directly complements the Bigster model, which will further strengthen the presence of this car brand in the mentioned segment. With a length of 4.62 meters, the Striker is based on Renault’s proven CMF-B platform and is characterized by a pragmatic engineering approach, fully focused on the real daily needs of modern users and a high level of space utilization.

According to the company, Dacia Striker is innovative crossover which brings customers the best of three different car classes. The vehicle combines the dynamics and versatility of a classic station wagon with spaciousness and practicality hatchbackawhile the raised ground clearance provides recognizable off-road possibilities and a high seating position characteristic of SUV vehicles. The exterior design is characterized by solid lines, an aerodynamic silhouette, an upright front end and a modernized light signature of the LED daytime running lights.

Only multi-energy drives

The powertrain range of the Striker model offers a choice of four advanced and efficient electrified powertrains. The offer opens with the Striker mild hybrid-G 140, which combines bi-fuel technology (gasoline and autogas LPG) with a 48V mild hybrid system, a 1.2-liter three-cylinder turbo engine and a manual or six-speed automatic transmission. The system charges the 0.8 kWh battery through regenerative braking, and when driving on LPG it emits 10% less CO on average2 compared to the equivalent classic petrol, where the gas tank under the trunk floor does not reduce the loading space.

This technology enables the vehicle to operate in the city up to 80% of the time in fully electric mode, in which it always starts, with CO emissions2 less than 100 g/km.

Rounding out the range is the four-wheel-drive Striker Hybrid 150 4×4, which uses a 1.2-liter 140 hp (230 Nm) mild hybrid on the front axle with a six-speed dual-clutch transmission and paddle shifters on the steering wheel, while the rear axle is powered by an exclusive 31 hp and 87 Nm electric motor with a two-speed automatic transmission.
