Most of today’s gaming platforms allow sharing of digital games in one way or another. Do you use that feature or is your game collection all yours?
We all know how physical games on a disc are shared – you hand the other a box with a disc or a card and that’s it. However, do you know how that process works with digital games? On Steam there is Family Sharing, on PlayStation it is called Gameshare, and Nintendo has its own Digital Game Card game lending system.
There are certain limitations, but with the ability to share your digital game collection with other people, the opportunities to play things you might not otherwise have access to increase. It is even common for two or more players to share the cost of acquiring a game that they can then access together. However, the question we haven’t asked you yet is: do you use that sharing of your digital game collection?
In other words, do you belong to a Steam Family group, have someone with whom you have exchanged PlayStation account information, or are you digitally lending your Nintendo games to someone?
