ECG function unlocked on Huawei watches in Serbia

Since July, the ECG function has been unlocked on Huawei watches and here.

Huawei satovi with the ECG function, available on some Watch GT Pro and some of the Watch Fit Pro series, allows you to take a quick, single-channel electrocardiogram at any time. The entire process takes only 30 seconds, during which the watch records the heart rhythm and checks for potential irregularities.

Among the irregularities that certain watch models can detect are atrial fibrillation or premature heartbeats. This examination is made possible thanks to the built-in electrode located on the side button of the watch. It is the same button that we mostly use to activate training or recording other physical activity.

A guide to proper ECG measurement

In order to obtain the most accurate results that are not compromised by external factors, it is important to follow the following steps during the preparation and the measurement process itself.

First step: Preparing the device and application

Before starting the measurement, open the smartphone and make sure that the application Huawei Health updated to the latest version available. After that, check how the watch fits on your wrist. The bracelet must be tightly tightened around the wrist, so that the back of the watch has direct and stable contact with the skin, without loose movement.

In the watch application, set whether you use the watch on your left or right hand, because it depends on which finger you will place on the electrode.

Second step: Starting the application and calming the body

Press the crown to open the list of applications, then find and launch ECG application. Currently, its icon is in a red ball with a monitor with a signal.

Before activating the sensor, sit and place your forearms flat on the table or place your hands in your lap. During the measurement, it is of crucial importance that you remain completely still and that you do not move the hand on which the watch is placed. Also, breathe deeply and normally.

Step three: Press the electrode and wait for the measurement

Gently place the index finger or thumb of your free hand on the metal electrode embedded in the lower side button of the watch. It is very important that you only lightly touch the button and hold it like that, and not press it hard. Stay in that position for exactly 30 seconds, breathe evenly and do not talk.

After the clock has finished counting down, you will be able to view the complete results and analysis of your heart rate on the device screen and within the phone application.

Open the app and go to Heart section. Scroll down and under ECG you will find all measurement results. There you can read results, view system comments, and download the ECG report to share further. The option is to save it in a PDF file and share it as an image through one of the connections on the device.

The ECG function is for reference only

It is important to point out that although this is a very complex function and can be very useful, it is for reference only. It is not a substitute for regular examinations and does not replace proper treatment.

It has the ability to indicate some problems, but it should not be used as primary health care or diagnosis. If you feel any discomfort, consult a doctor.
