To celebrate the relaunch, Krafton is throwing in all sorts of rewards to players through Drops events. Players can watch streams, complete missions in the game and invite friends to play to get some extra bonuses for their character.

With the game becoming free to play, the new update introduced tactical equipment and a variety of training modes. The latter should be particularly useful for a number of new players heading to their first mission in the basic training grounds, tutorials and AI training matches now available, writes PC Gamer.

Although PUBG: Battlegrounds still has a decent player base, it is much less attractive than a few years ago. Time will tell whether the free version will attract some old players again.
