Nvidia is working on the development of a new graphics card that would be positioned above the current RTX 5090 model. Sources state that the planned launch is in the third quarter of 2026, during the period known as the “back to school” season.
It is stated that this information has been confirmed by several independent sources from different countries and companies, as well as that the project has already passed the early conceptual stage and entered development at the level of the graphics card itself. This means that it is not just an idea, but a concrete hardware project.
Halo GPU above the RTX 5090, but not directly related to the RTX 50 Super model
According to the same sources, the new model has nothing to do with the previously mentioned RTX 50 Super series, which is claimed to have no planned launch during 2026 at all. Instead, Nvidia is reportedly developing a separate “Halo” graphics card, which would act as a technological gem and the absolute top of the range.
For now, it is not known whether the new card will appear as an RTX 5090 Ti or as a Titan-class model. Specifications such as the number of CUDA cores, power consumption, amount of memory or processor type have not yet been leaked to the public. Also, the possibility of AIB partners participating in the project is not excluded, although with such extreme models there is often a strong focus on reference Nvidia design.
It is worth reminding that NVIDIA has a long history of developing such “extreme” prototypes that never reached sales. During the Ada Lovelace generation, prototype RTX 4090 Ti and Titan Ada graphics cards even made it to the media for testing, but were later withdrawn. Nvidia later confirmed that the massive reference cooler used in the RTX 4090 actually came from that canceled project.
Although the authenticity of the current information cannot yet be confirmed, if it turns out to be correct, the gaming market could get a new “king of graphics cards”. However, given the expected extreme price and possible problems with availability, this model will probably remain beyond the reach of most users, reports mydrivers.
