A medieval sword fighting game called Half Sword is ready to enter the early access phase, and it could offer live hilarity – judging by the latest trailer.
Steam is a strange place where the general rules of the gaming industry often don’t work. Here, for example, who would have thought that the tenth game on the most wishlist is some kind of swordsmanship simulator in the Middle Ages, which you may never have heard of?
And the reality is like this: Half Sword is a game that wowed players at last year’s Steam Next Fest with its combination of physical comedy and fun combat. In short, Half Sword is a quasi-realistic swordsmanship/knight bashing in which the players don’t have vicious moves but are all more or less sloppy and clumsy, and that combined with a quasi-realistic physical model and a lot of blood makes for an interesting recipe.
And it seems that the developers themselves are having fun making this game like never before. To announce the release of the game, they prepared a silly trailer that poetically describes the gameplay of Half Sword. Here’s what it looks like:
Definitely something that would interest our Editor-in-Chief! And if you’re interested, you should know that Half Sword has announced its PC early access release for next Friday, 30. 1. The plan is for the game to remain in early access for the next 6-12 months, during which time it will receive new maps, an improved violence system, weapon forging mechanics, etc.
