The BMW Group has officially presented the new generation of the 7 Series, its traditional representative in the segment of luxury sedans. This model, which has been on the market since 1977, in its seventh generation brings the most significant technological breakthrough to date. The key innovation is the integration of technologies and design principles from the “Neue Klasse” series into the existing model, making the 7 series the leader of a technological wave that will gradually spread to the entire range of the Bavarian manufacturer.
The design language of the new 7 Series follows a “monolithic approach with an accentuated presence,” as BMW poetically describes it. The front part is dominated by an illuminated radiator grille with minimalist “crystal” lights. The side lines are simplified with an emphasis on clean surfaces, while the rear end is adorned with completely redesigned light elements. In addition to the standard packages, BMW Individual offers two-tone paintwork for the first time, emphasizing the personalization and precision of workmanship, normally characteristic of even more luxurious brands.

The digital revolution
The interior of the vehicle is focused on an exclusive ambience and digital experience, the company emphasizes. The BMW Panoramic iDrive with a passenger screen is being presented for the first time, while the improved BMW Theater Screen is available for passengers in the back seats, which provides a cinematic experience in 8K resolution. The cabin is equipped with luxurious materials such as leather, wood, crystal glass and metal, along with a Bowers & Wilkins sound system with support for Dolby Atmos.
The OS relies on the BMW operating system X and uses artificial intelligence to personalize services. Through the BMW Digital Key Plus option and regular software updates via the Internet, the vehicle will be able to keep its software up-to-date throughout its lifetime. With advanced features such as intelligent voice control and integration of Amazon Alexa technology, the 7 Series offers a new digital experience for drivers and passengers.
Great range and advanced autonomy
BMW remains faithful to the strategy of technological openness, offering a wide range of drive systems. The offer includes diesel and gasoline engines with 48V mild hybrid technology, plug-in hybrids and fully electric variants. Thanks to the sixth generation of BMW eDrive technology and the new cylindrical battery cells, the electric models now achieve a range of more than 720 kilometers according to the WLTP standard, with optimized route planning and intelligent charging solutions. Batteries for the i7 model, as it became known recently, are produced in Croatia at the facilities of Rimac Technology.
Safety and comfort are raised to a new level with the use of the BMW Symbiotic Drive system. Motorway Assistant enables hands-free driving at speeds of up to 130 km/h in a number of European countries, while AI supports autonomous parking and maneuvering. In addition to the standard air suspension on both axles, integral active steering and roll stabilization are optionally available, which can achieve a balance between the dynamics of sporty driving and the comfort of a limousine with a driver.
An armored version is also offered
A special place in the offer is occupied by the BMW 7 Series Protection, a high-security vehicle with VR9 certification. Thanks to the innovative “BMW Protection Core” core made of steel, special alloys and bulletproof glass, passengers in this car are protected against attacks by firearms and explosives. Despite the additional armor, the undercarriage and braking system have been adapted to maintain the distinctive driving dynamics of the model.
Production of the new 7 Series takes place at the BMW Group plant in Dingolfing, which serves as their primary factory for new luxury models. The company strongly emphasizes sustainability throughout the entire vehicle life cycle, using secondary materials and energy from renewable sources. Ambitious goal of reducing CO emissions2 for 60 million tons by 2035 is an integral part of the strategy behind the development of this luxury sedan. The start of production and sales on global markets are announced for July.
