Things are moving fast and it has been confirmed that Sony’s film based on the Helldivers series of games is coming to theaters on 11/10/2027.
Sony announced last month that Helldivers will be getting its own film adaptation directed by Justin Lin, the guy known for the Fast & Furious movies. Obviously, their plans are being realized very quickly because it was just announced that Helldivers will land in cinemas 10. 11. 2027.
The lead actor in the film has also been confirmed. It will be an American actor Jason Momoawho is no stranger to roles in gaming themed films. Last year he starred in the film adaptation of Minecraft, and this year we will see him in the role of Blanka in the movie Street Fighter.
Helldivers (2), for those who don’t know, is the fastest selling game produced by PlayStation. It’s also Sony’s most successful multiplayer game right now, so it’s no surprise that a movie adaptation is in full swing, even with the fact that Sony Pictures is also launching a new movie from the thematically similar Starship Troopers franchise.
