Honor could present the Magic 9 series in October this year, and the new flagship line reportedly brings major changes in appearance compared to previous generations. At the same time, the company will keep its recognizable design with another premium series of phones.
According to Weibo source SmartPikachu, the Honor Magic 9 series will get a completely redesigned look. If the information is confirmed, it would be the first major redesign of the Magic flagship phone after a long period, as Honor mostly kept the same visual direction in previous years.
The Magic series used a relatively subtle and recognizable design for several generations. The company changed the specifications and improved the hardware, but the external appearance was mostly changed through minor color corrections, edges, finishing or screen.

And the Magic 8 series continued that approach. The phones have a circular arrangement of lenses inside the module with a rounded square frame, which makes them distinctive. However, the rest of the design, including the glossy back and basic body lines, remained close to the previous models.
That is why it is now expected that Honor will finally seriously change the appearance of its premium phones. The source states that the Magic 9 series will arrive in the fourth quarter of this year with a completely new, changed design compared to the previous series, but does not reveal specific details for now. It is not clear whether the changes refer primarily to the camera, the shape of the module, the back or the overall appearance of the device.
In addition to the Magic 9 series, the same source also mentions the Honor WIN models, which should retain their distinctive design. That likely means a large rectangular camera module on the back, along with a so-called “mini ultra” button for the cooling fan and three rings around the lens.
Honor is apparently preparing major changes for the next generation of phones, both in design and specifications.
