The official trailer for “The King’s Daughter,” a new fantasy drama based on Vonde N. McIntyre’s novel “The Moon and the Sun,” has been released.
The film stars Kaya Scodelario (from Crawl and Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City) as the illegitimate daughter of King Louis XIV (played by Pierce Brosnan). When she learns that her father, the king, is holding a mythical mermaid (Bingbing Fan) locked inside the castle lagoon, the king’s daughter embarks on a daring quest to free the humanoid sea creature from captivity.
Director Sean McNamara (Soul Surfer, The Miracle Season) directed the film, which also stars Benjamin Walker, Pablo Schreiber, Rachel Griffiths, William Hurt, and Julie Andrews as the narrator.
