The mafia game Gang of Dragon, which was announced three months ago, may never come out

The outcome of the game Gang of Dragon, which the Chinese investor decided to cut costs when they realized that it could be an expensive project, is bizarre and shocking.

Gang of Dragon was announced three months ago at the Game Awards as a new title from the creators of the Yakuza series. It looked good – a famous actor, brutal action, good graphics… However, it seems that in the end, nothing might come of that game.

Bloomberg reports that the Chinese company NetEase has decided to will no longer fund the development of that game. Apparently, they decided on this move after it was estimated that an additional 44 million dollars would be needed to complete the game, which they did not count on.

As NetEase is also the owner of Nagoshi Studio, it is quite likely that the studio will be closed without additional investmentsand their game cancelled. If it comes to that, it will be a truly sad chapter for Toshihiro Nagoshi who has dedicated the last four years to founding a new studio and creating a new game outside of the Yakuza series.
