Company HMD officially presented a new model from the class simple phones with support for 2G networks. The phone name is Nokia 123 Shield. The company points out that it is the most affordable device resistant to water and dust, at the same time specially optimized for providing extremely reliable and stable quality of phone calls.
Solid construction and IP65 certificate
The manufacturer states that the Nokia 123 Shield can easily withstand rain, water splashes, sand and dust. Official data from the site confirm that the device fully meets all the requirements of the IP65 resistance standard according to international specifications IEC 60529.
In addition, this model was designed from the very beginning for workers in the field and anyone who works in demanding outdoor conditions. That’s why the phone has a special anti-slip texture on the sides of the case, as well as rubber protective seals. They prevent dirt and moisture from entering the headphone jack and charging port.
Improved signal, durable battery and bright light
When it comes to the primary communication function itself, HMD claims that the Nokia 123 Shield is optimized for receiving a much stronger and more stable signal compared to standard phones in the same class, such as the older model Nokia 105, which directly brings clearer and clearer sound during calls.

HMDInside the device is a Unisoc SC6531E chip that runs the S30+ operating system. It works with four megabytes of RAM and four megabytes of internal memory for storage. Fortunately, it can be expanded up to 32 GB using a microSD memory card if needed.
The phone is equipped with a 2.4-inch QVGA screen, while on the back there is a modest camera with a powerful LED flash. This flash doubles as a flashlight. For it, the manufacturer points out that it provides even 300% stronger lighting compared to the lamp on the Nokia 110 model. Long-term autonomy is provided by a replaceable battery with a capacity of 1,750 mAh that is charged via USB-C. The battery allows up to 19 days of work in standby mode or over 27 hours of continuous talk time.
Additional options and an affordable price
Among other practical functions of the Nokia 123 Shield model, the classic 3.5 mm audio input for headphones, support for two SIM cards, and an integrated FM radio receiver that can work with both wired and wireless headphones stand out.
Nokia 123 Shield appears on the market in green and purple variants. The phone is already located in the offer several retail chains in Bulgaria at a price of around 35 euros, and in Greece the price is 40 euros. We believe that this phone will be a hit in the prepaid offer across the continent.
