Valve has decided that it will stop producing the cheaper model of the Steam Deck with LCD screen when the stock runs out. In the future, only the more expensive OLED model will remain on sale.
After almost four years on the market, the old Steam Deck is no longer for sale. To be more precise, Valve stopped production Steam Deck LCD model which was the cheapest in the offer so far.
The LCD Model is already out of stock, so it will be sold in the future only Steam Deck OLED in 512GB and 1TB editions. This also means that the lowest regular price of the Steam Deck is now €569. The LCD model could be purchased at a discount earlier this year for around 350 euros.
The Steam Deck LCD was originally slated to launch in early 2022. Since then, a model without an SSD disk, as well as a model with a 512 GB disk, have already been sold.
