Honor has introduced a new version of its already extremely thin MagicPad tablet device, which is now even thinner. Last year’s MagicPad 3 had a thickness of only 5.8 mm, while the new MagicPad 4 lowers that measure to only 4.8 mm.
This makes it thinner than the iPad Air model with a thickness of 6.1 mm, the iPad Pro model with a thickness of 5.1 mm, as well as the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 tablet, which is also 5.1 mm. In front of it are only some E Ink tablets, such as the reMarkable 2, which measures 4.7 mm.
The MagicPad 4 uses a slimmer design with a 165 Hz OLED screen
The MagicPad 4 uses a slightly smaller 12.3-inch screen compared to its 13.3-inch predecessor, but that difference is small compared to the gain in display quality. The new model now uses an OLED panel with a refresh rate of 165 Hz, instead of the LCD screen of the previous generation. The battery capacity has been reduced to 10,100 mAh, which is an expected consequence of the thinner case, but Honor has not published an autonomy estimate for now.

OLED technology could partially compensate for the lower capacity in everyday use. Thanks to the smaller thickness and more compact dimensions, the weight of the tablet has been reduced by about 145 grams compared to the MagicPad 3.
The tablet is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, with two RAM configurations: 12 GB of RAM with 256 GB of space or 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal memory. The operating system is MagicOS 10, based on Android 16. There is a 13 MP camera on the back, while the front camera has a resolution of 9 MP.
Although the photographic capabilities are not in the foreground, the MagicPad 4 stands out in the audio segment, with a total of eight speakers that offer spatial sound, which makes it particularly interesting for multimedia use, reports The Verge.
