Arriving in the 2026 model year, the Mazda2 Hybrid brings a number of improvements focused on design, comfort and safety. The novelty is extended standard equipment in all levels, with a special emphasis on the entry-level Prime-Line. It now includes features such as heated front seats, a height-adjustable front passenger seat, power rear windows, an auto-dimming interior mirror and an upgraded four-speaker audio system.
In the Prime-, Center- and Exclusive-Line trims, the exterior mirror housings are now body-colored, which contributes to a more harmonious overall appearance, while the Homura and Homura Plus trims retain the black mirror caps as a distinctive design element.
Higher trim levels have been further refined. The Exclusive-Line thus includes fully LED front and rear lights, while the Homura and Homura Plus bring refreshed interior finishes. These include new gloss black design accents on key surfaces such as the center console and door trim. The exterior design is completed with new colors – Charcoal Grey, Sky Gray and Fern Green.
The passenger cabin of the Mazda2 Hybrid continues to emphasize ergonomics and ease of use. All key controls and instruments are arranged around the steering wheel, while the low dashboard design and the A-pillars moved back allow for excellent forward visibility.
It’s good that a wide range of advanced driver assistance systems are included in the standard equipment. The novelty is the driver monitoring system (Driver Monitoring System – DM). It is now standard in all trim levels and increases safety by detecting signs of fatigue or inattention using an infrared camera.
The Mazda2 Hybrid uses a full hybrid power-split system that combines a 1.5-liter gasoline engine and an electric motor, with a total system power of 116 hp. This system enables a high proportion of driving on electric drive, especially in urban conditions. This model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 175 km/h, with a combined fuel consumption of 3.7 to 4.2 l/100 km.
