Samsung is preparing a stable version of the One UI 9 system based on the Android 17 version, and the official debut is expected during the second Unpacked event in 2026, most likely on July 22 in London, along with the release of the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Flip8 models.
Unlike the One UI 8.5 version, which brought major visual changes, One UI 9 should be more focused on system refinement, additional functions, creative tools, customization, better accessibility and stronger protection against security risks.
Android 17 is coming to these Galaxy devices
The beta program is already available through the Samsung Members app. The user needs to log in with a Samsung account, select the One UI 9 Beta Program banner, and then download the beta upgrade through the Settings > Software Update. The first beta version has a PDA tag ending in ZZEF and occupies about 3.6 GB.
The stable version is first expected on the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Z Flip8 models, while the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S24 series should receive One UI 9 around the same time. The Galaxy S23 series, part of the A series and tablets should follow later in 2026.
According to the currently available list, the Galaxy S26, S26+, S26 Ultra, S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, S25 Edge, S25 FE, S24, S24+, S24 Ultra, S24 FE, S23, S23+, S23 Ultra and S23 FE should receive the Android 17 update through One UI 9.
As for flip models, the Galaxy Z TriFold, Z Fold7, Z Flip7, Z Flip7 FE, Z Fold Special Edition, Z Fold6, Z Flip6, Z Fold5 and Z Flip5 are expected.
