On Sunday, May 24, around 6:40 a.m., a traffic accident occurred in the town of Uljanik, which resulted in considerable material damage, but luckily no one was injured. The accident occurred when the 29-year-old driver of a car with Daruvar license plates ran off the road due to excessive speed.
As the police announced, due to improper speed, the vehicle hit the embankment with its right wheels and continued to move uncontrollably through the drainage channel. After drifting, the car first hit the yard fence, and then hit the western part of the family house, which is owned by a 71-year-old local.
Employees of the Public Fire Department of Garešnica were dispatched to the scene. Upon the arrival of the firefighters, it was determined that there was no need for a technical extrication, since the driver had left the vehicle on her own. Firefighters secured the location and took precautionary measures on the car to eliminate the possibility of a fire – and their photos of the stuck vehicle attracted a lot of attention on Facebook.
Official data from the Bjelovar-Bilogora Police Department confirmed that no one was injured in this traffic accident, while material damage was caused to the vehicle itself, the yard fence and the family house. During the investigation, the breathalyzer of the driver revealed that she had an alcohol concentration of 1.43 parts per thousand. Due to the committed traffic violations, the driver was fined on the spot, and due to driving under the influence of alcohol, the police will file a misdemeanor order against the 29-year-old woman.
