First Apple a phone with a bendable screen, iPhone Ultrawill debut this September alongside the iPhone 18 Pro series. Ahead of this launch, new supply chain reports show that the Cupertino-based tech giant has significantly raised initial production orders. This clearly indicates high expectations for the new format, and the price has also been revealed – but let’s go in order!
New production goals
According to writing Nikkei Asiaciting sources close to the production chain, Apple has officially asked its suppliers to produce around 10 million bendable iPhones. This figure represents a noticeable jump, since earlier estimates suggested a much more cautious initial circulation of seven million.
Along with the bendable model, Apple is preparing mass production for the rest of its premium line, so another 70 million copies of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max models have been requested from suppliers. When all models are taken into account, the company’s total production target for the new iPhone line in 2026 is an impressive 220 million units.
The report also states that Apple has instructed certain partners to prepare for extraordinary, additional orders of up to 85 million units in the second half of 2026. In order to ensure the stability of the chain and avoid shortages, the company ordered suppliers to save certain components of the current iPhone 17 series that will be compatible with the upcoming iPhone 18.
Premiere date and astronomical price
Official presentation of iPhone Ultra, iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max models it is expected at the big event scheduled for September 8. Since it is a completely new and extremely complex technology of flexible screens, entry into this segment will also bring record high prices.
The starting price for the basic iPhone Ultra will be around $2,500, while more advanced versions with maximum storage capacity will cost up to $3,000. As we have already explained, these prices will be significantly higher in Europe and especially in Serbia.
With this move, Apple wants to set a new standard in the ultra-premium category and directly attack the competition that already holds positions in the phone market with flexible screens. If these prices turn out to be correct, the iPhone Ultra will be the most expensive bendable phone on the market. We can’t wait for September
