Manufacturers of handheld gaming PCs seem to be competing to offer the most expensive option. The current record holder is the Ayaneo AI395-128GB+2TB, for which an insultingly high amount should be allocated.
When the Steam Deck first appeared, the cheapest model could be bought for just under 400 euros. Today, the handheld gaming PC market has become a wild testing ground for equally wild prices.
Thanks to the global shortage of memory (thank you, AI!), it is almost impossible to find such a device under 600 euros, and for new devices the prices go from a thousand euros and up.
But you know what they say – every commodity has its buyer. So the Chinese company Ayaneo announced its flagship device for the future of gaming on Windows.
Ayaneo Next 2 is a beast powered by the powerful AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor. It has a large 116 Wh battery in the housing that powers the 9-inch OLED screen with a high refresh rate.
But the scary parts of the configuration are the RAM and storage space. The device comes with a minimum of 32 gigabytes of RAM and a 1TB hard drive. Although this would be enough for most people, a model with 64 GB of working memory is also offered, and for those who are not satisfied with that, there is also the with 128 GB of RAM and a disk from 2 TB.
This last model costs $5299.99 and guess what – it seems to be already sold out.
The first copies of the Ayaneo Next 2 device should be shipped to customers at the end of this month.
