Good news for diesel drivers, fuel prices are falling

The Government of the Republic of Croatia passed a new regulation on the determination of the highest retail prices of oil derivatives at a telephonic session, which is valid from this Tuesday, May 5, and lasts for 14 days.

According to the new decision, the price of gasoline remains unchanged and will amount to 1.64 euros per liter. Diesel fuel will be cheaper to 1.72 euros per liter, which is a reduction of six cents, while blue diesel will be 1.22 euros per liter, or seven cents less than before.

Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) also recorded a drop in prices. For large containers, the new price is 1.58 euros per kilogram, while for bottles it will be 2.16 euros per kilogram, which in both cases represents a reduction of 18 cents.

Prices are still set according to a formula that takes into account the average base price of fossil fuels over the previous 14-day period. At the same time, trade premiums are also limited, amounting to EUR 0.1545 per liter for gasoline, EUR 0.1045 for diesel and EUR 0.0436 for blue diesel. At LPG, premiums are set at 0.8737 euros per kilogram for bottles and 0.4116 euros for large containers.

The Government points out that without these measures the prices would be significantly higher. Estimates show that a liter of gasoline would reach 1.79 euros, diesel 1.93 euros, and blue diesel 1.29 euros, while LPG for tanks would amount to 1.73 euros per kilogram, and for bottles 2.44 euros.
