MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ is coming, for the price it’s better not to know

The company MSI presented a new model of its handheld PC called Claw. It will be a device powered by Intel’s new Arc G3 Extreme chip.

If we exclude the Steam Deck, which sold 5-6 million copies, devices from the category of handheld PCs in the format of portable consoles have not been very successful. It’s hard to think that anything will be different now that hardware prices have skyrocketed, but manufacturers are still trying to deliver something for those for whom price is not a decisive factor when buying.

This is how MSI presented it Claw 8 EX AI+ (thanks to the name!), now the fifth model from the Claw series, but the first to use the new generation Intel Panther Lake processor in the form of a chip Arc G3 Extreme. In translation, we can expect a processor with 14 cores and Arc B390 graphics. In addition, it combines 32 GB of working memory and a terabyte SSD (M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0) that can be replaced.

The device is designed to work at normal 25W, but maximum can draw up to 80W.

Claw 8 EX AI+ brings a redesigned cooling system, is 20 grams lighter compared to the previous model, has Hall Effect sticks, metal D-Pad, haptic vibration, and slightly wider handles than before.

All this should cost about 2.3 million South Korean won. Or in our currency – about 1300 euros. But don’t worry – it will certainly be more than that once all the taxes are taken into account.

MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ should go on sale on the 23rd of this month.
