Samson hits hard in the first gameplay, looks promising

Indie developer Liquid Swords gave us a gameplay demo of their first game, Samson, showing off hitting and driving.

It was announced a few months ago Samson: A Tyndalston Storyan action game in which a grumpy bearded man fights against debt and interest collection. It’s a new game from the creators of the Just Cause series, in development for the PC platform, and it’s coming this spring.

Now we’ve got the first glimpse of gameplay for Samson and judging by what we can see – it could be decent. The close combat system is very impactful and dynamic. Developers say how the main character hits hard like a hammer and you can definitely feel it. The only thing missing is the display of blood, I guess they didn’t skimp on getting a lower age rating. It is interesting, however, that the game has a realistic simulation of the physics of objects, so everything collapses and is destroyed when we push opponents away or knock on objects.

The second part of the gameplay comes down to driving in a semi-open world. It’s shown driving with the camera outside the car, we see a few chases, a detailed model of damage, etc. The traffic lights here are obviously only visual because they all run through red lights, but hey – this isn’t GTA, nor does anyone expect this game to be. We’d be happier if it wasn’t like MindsEye.
