The most popular gaming platform for games – Steam, has published a list of the best games for 2025, ranked by total revenue, highlighting the 100 most popular gaming titles. Although Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 won numerous awards and received extremely high ratings from players, this game did not manage to break into the shortlist of the so-called platinum list of 12 “strongest” titles.
Steam ranks games into four categories by revenue: Platinum (1–12), Gold (13–24), Silver (25–50), and Bronze (51–100), with no numbered order within the category itself. The following games entered the platinum list: PUBG Battlegrounds, Monster Hunter Wilds, Counter Strike 2, APEX Legends, Battlefield 6, ARC Riders, Marvel Rivals, Kingdom Deliverance, REPO, Call of Duty, DOTA 2 and Schedule.

It’s clear from the gold list that 3A games still have tremendous power. Titles such as Battlefield 6, Cyberpunk, Borderlands 4, Red Dead Redemption II, HellDivers II received “mixed” ratings on Steam, but thanks to the franchise’s popularity and large fan base, they managed to achieve impressive sales results.
At the same time, surprises like ARC Raiders, Schedule I and Hollow Knight: Silksong proved to be unexpected hits that marked the year.
It is interesting that Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed: Shadows, despite the controversy surrounding the historical theme and weaker ratings, reached the silver rank in terms of earnings. In contrast, Light & Shadow: Expedition 33, although widely praised, failed to break out into the top of popular titles in terms of sales volume.
