HBO has released the first official teaser for “The Gilded Age,” a new historical drama series created by award-winning creator / producer / screenwriter “Downton Abbey” Julian Fellowes.
The new series takes place in New York in 1882 during the “Gilded Age,” a period in which America’s rapid economic growth caused a large wealth gap between rich and poor, as well as a social divide between “old money” and “new money.”
The HBO series boasts a strong cast that includes Christine Baranski, Cynthia Nixon, Louisa Jacobson, Carrie Coon, Morgan Spector, Denee Benton, Audra McDonald, Taissa Farmiga and many others.
The Gilded Age Season 1 plot
In the new world, a new era is about to begin. The Gilded Age begins in 1882 when the young Marian Brook (Louisa Jacobson) moves from rural Pennsylvania to New York after the death of her father to live with her completely old aunts Agnes van Rhijn (Christine Baranski) and Adam Brook (Cynthia Nixon). Exposed to a world on the brink of the modern age, will Marian follow established social rules or will he forge his own path?
