The realistic shooter ’83 is coming to early access this month

After its successful return from the dead, the Blue Dot Game development team has confirmed that ’83 is coming to early access this month, along with a new trailer showing the brutal combat of an alternate Cold War.

The spiritual successor to the cult Rising Storm series finally opens its doors to players. The veteran development team who worked on the original project before it was canceled announced that they will ’83 out on Steam in Early Access form 23. 4.

Along with the announcement, an extended early access trailer was released, which gives us an insight into the fight on the new battlefields of Central Europe in the form of the Warsaw Pact attack on the NATO alliance.

The Early Access version brings with it three massive maps with two different ways to play – one as a soldier and the other as a commander. Each of the factions (NATO and Warsaw Pact) comes with its own vehicles, such as tanks and jeeps, which will play a key role in 40v40 player skirmishes.

The main philosophy of the Blue Dot Game studio is the so-called “accessible realismTranslated, this means that every detail, from the uniform to the sounds of the weapons, is thoroughly researched and historically authentic without sacrificing the fun itself.

An example of this is a more lenient respawn time so that one round of shooting does not occupy the entire morning but an average of 30-40 minutes. However, this does not mean that communication between players and tactical thinking will not be necessary if you want to win.

Although the main elements, such as the roles of commanders and squad leaders, have already been implemented, the early access phase will serve to polish the mechanics and add new content, while the release of the full version of the game is planned for the middle or end of 2027.
