Five iOS 27 features that Android phones still don’t have

Android 17 and iOS 27 bring a large number of new features, especially in the field of artificial intelligence. Although Google has been leading the way in certain AI functions for years, Apple introduced several solutions in iOS 27 that Android does not yet have in the same form.

iOS 27 features Google could bring to Android

She is the first Spatial Reframing in the Photos app. This option allows you to change the perspective of the photo, as if the same scene was taken from a different angle. The iPhone uses local spatial models to change the frame in real time, while Apple Intelligence fills in the missing parts of the image. Processing is completed via Private Cloud Compute infrastructure.

Google Photos already has a similar Auto Frame feature, but it’s not as prominent or presented as a separate tool for changing the angle of a shot. Apple iOS 27 also brings improved Clean Up for removing objects, as well as Extend for expanding the background of a photo.

Another interesting novelty is the Safari option Notify Me. The user can request a notification when a change occurs on a certain website, such as a price drop, a product return to condition or a new offer appearing. Safari then checks the page once a day and sends a notification when it detects a requested change.

The third function is related to the application Shortcuts. Instead of manually composing complex automations, in iOS 27 the user can describe what he wants in natural language. For example, it can ask to reduce the volume at the start of the workout or automatically turn on the Low Power Mode option when the battery drops to 50 percent. Apple Intelligence then independently creates the corresponding shortcut.

Android 17 does not have a direct equivalent that would allow creating system automations with a simple text command.

The fourth newspaper uses the Camera application and Visual Intelligence for sharing the bill in a restaurant. The camera recognizes the items, the user marks the food and drink they ordered, and the system calculates their portion of the bill and the tip. Payment can then be made through the Apple Cash service, which is why this option is limited to users in the US.

The fifth iOS 27 feature enables automatic change of compromised passwords. Application Passwords recognizes weak or compromised login credentials, while Safari can open a supported site, log in a user, change a password, and save a new combination.

Google Password Manager warns of compromised accounts, and Gemini in the Chrome browser can change the password on certain sites. The Apple solution, however, unifies the entire process within the Passwords application and reduces it to one touch.

These iOS 27 features show that the competition is no longer just about the number of AI capabilities, but also about how practically connected they are to apps and everyday tasks, BGR reports.
