Thinner bezels, more AI and a nicer integrated selfie camera

The company Samsung has finally presented the model Galaxy A27 5G. This phone brings moderate changes compared to its predecessor Galaxy A26. The changes are mostly of an aesthetic nature, but inside there is a chipset that provides slightly better performance.

The front of the new model is technically identical to the screen of the previous version. A Super AMOLED panel is built in. The screen has a diagonal of 6.7 inches and a refresh rate of 120 Hz.

The main aesthetic difference is in the way the front camera is integrated. The teardrop neckline has finally been removed. It was replaced by a cleaner circular opening, the so-called punch hole, but Samsung calls this design Infinity-O display. The bezels around the screen are also thinner compared to the previous model.

Another significant change relates to the choice of chipset. The phone is powered by a 4-nanometer Snapdragon 6 Gen 3. It brings a speedup of 10-20% compared to 5-nanometer Exynos 1380 from the Galaxy A26 model. The company states that the device will therefore respond faster during daily work.

New AI options and agents

Improvements to the existing suite of AI features make mobile intelligence more accessible to more users. Circle to Search now supports multi-object recognition, allowing users to simultaneously search for multiple items within a single image. And from clothing combinations to fashion accessories, in just one step.

It also allows virtual try-on outfits directly from search results, helping users explore new styles. Object Eraser now delivers more accurate results, making it easier to remove unwanted elements from photos with more natural-looking edits. In addition, Voice Transcription in the application Voice Recorder can now translate while transcribing, making it easy to take meeting notes in 22 languages.

Building on the Awesome Intelligence experiences introduced earlier this year, the Samsung Galaxy A27 offers a selection of AI assistants including Google Gemini i Perplexity. Deeper integration into a growing number of Galaxy apps, including Galleryenables faster and more intuitive everyday interactions. The Galaxy A27 5G now supports i Bixby as a conversational assistant, enabling easy management of settings and functions through natural language.

The phone has an IP64 certificate for protection against dust and water splashes, which is a step back from the IP67 protection that the Galaxy A26 has.
